Audrey is a creative-minded, ambitious dreamer and doer, and she is constantly fashioning new goals to achieve.
She has been writing her whole life and has been racking up clips regularly since 2011 (which you can access on this website under the Writing Portfolio section). Audrey’s writing experience includes reporting and blogging for university, local, and national publications and companies. She graduated from Texas Christian University in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and a minor in English.
She is currently the freelance copy editor for Nashville Lifestyles Magazine, as well as a writer for the publication. She copy edits and proofreads each monthly issue of the magazine, checking for grammar, style, and flow in each piece of editorial content. Additionally, she reports and writes stories and profiles as assigned on various topics, including art, architecture, home design, music, local professionals, lifestyle, and more.
Before moving to Nashville, Audrey was the research editor for D Magazine in Dallas, Texas, where her main responsibilities included preparing, planning, and executing the local professionals award programs (such as Best Doctors in Dallas, Best Lawyers, etc.) published nearly monthly; fact checking the final lists of winners and other content in the book; managing the entire publication process of the annual D Medical Directory; contributing editorial content to D’s blogs and the magazine as needed; and generally assisting with any extra duties that need completing in deadline-induced time crunches.
Previously, she took a detour from the strictly journalism route to pursue a position in marketing. As marketing manager and digital editor for Smart City Locating, she worked on a variety of projects, including website content, social media posts, blog writing, community outreach, event planning, and brand building.
She also worked briefly in public relations, and, while she was in school, she held internships at Teen Vogue in the fashion department, for nonprofit organization Nashville Downtown Partnership in the communications department, and at D Magazine as the editorial assistant for D Home and D Weddings.
Audrey specializes in creative writing, lifestyle and news reporting, event coverage, social media marketing, thinking critically and analytically, and working under pressure and on deadline.
